World Championship Performances

"representing Great Britain - Welcoming the World  ...".

Check out the fabulous pictures on the dna3d flickr feed to see the colour and energy of the Opening Ceremony of the Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships at the NIA back in November 2011.  100 performers as Bugs, Bees, Butterflies, Icarus, the Wright Brothers, RAF & WAF pilots, Air Tourists, Cosmonauts and Astronauts, and models of Spitfires, Bi-planes, Red Arrows, Concorde and the Soyuz Rocket, whirred, spun, jumped, pirouetted, floated and soared around the Arena, as the Opening Ceremony told the story of the history of flight in dance, poetry and acrobatics. Everyone worked exceptionally hard, with rehearsal days lasting over 8 hours. We heard not a single complaint.  In fact everyone always seemed to have huge smiles on their face. Our youngest Bee was 6 and our oldest Icarus was 29.  Despite being several different groups, everyone worked together really well to create a cohesive, entertaining and eye catching Ceremony. I think everyone really enjoyed the chance to see such world class athletes putting in some fantastic routines, and the see the Great British trampolinist Kat Driscoll, qualify for London 2012 Olympics.
