Dance & Digital Performance : Podcasts for the Studio

In 2008 Dennie successfully applied for a National Education Award for a project called Dance and Digital Performance : Podcasts for the Studio, as part of her part time work as a senior lecturer in dance and performance at the University of Wolverhampton.   In fact dna3d dancers appear in all the podcasts in the series and this project acted as a springboard to the creation of dna3d.

The project, 'Blended Learning Development', fostering innovative learning in the field of dance practice by bringing together the dancer/choreographer, the studio and Web 2.0 technologies.

The Project produced a ‘cutting edge’ video podcast series designed explicitly to advance dance students’ independent ‘practice-based’ choreographic learning.

This series of video podcasts is more than a multimedia resource and more than simply a podcast lecture. It is a suggested independent learning process that is integral to enhancing lecture and assessment based tasks. Each podcast has been designed, developed, evaluated and made freely available to the wider Higher Education dance community. To access these (free of charge) contact  dennie on the dna3d email address.

Video podcasts 1,2,3,4 concentrate on the choreographic process in relation to live space.

Video podcast 5 & 5b focus on dance content developed through the lens of the camera.

Video podcast 6 focuses on the relationship between the live and projected performer.

Dennie has produced a number of publications related to dance, film and the iPod:-
