Fleet Feet

In November 2010 dna3d were named as Artist in Residence for Birmingham City Council: Perry Barr. The project, FLEET FEET, inspired by the Perry Barr located Birchfield Harriers and their club motto Fleet and Free, was a dance and film project working with several groups. These became known as the Fleet Feet Seniors – a group of people between the ages of 75 – 91, who attended the Church Centre’s Daytime ‘club,’ and Fleet Feet Youth, 2 groups meeting at St Mark’s and Maryvale Church Centres.

Taking place between January – March 2011 dna3d developed a number of activities that took place during the three month period, including weekly Fleet Feet Youth and Fleet Feet Senior dance and film workshops to Fleet Feet Schools workshops and performances in primary schools, the Fleet Feet: Strictly Dance Champion - Family Dance Night, to two Fleet Feet Performance events , which were a culmination of the project and also to celebrate 40 years of St Mark’s Church Centre. dna3d also created a film documenting the process of the Fleet Feet project. Completed on the final day of the project, the film was shown as part of the final evening’s performance event. The film can be seen by clicking here
